You’ve likely been seeing posts about digital marketing, and maybe it looks a little suspect. Maybe your friend or brother told you it’s a scam, or that the people showing income numbers are faking.
That’s how I felt when I first started learning about digital marketing and the online income space. And, that’s what my brother said when I shared it with him.
It took me a long time to jump in because I felt that it was a risk that I couldn’t afford to take. Now, I realize it was an opportunity that I couldn’t afford to miss! So I’m looking for others who would appreciate an opportunity to create multiple streams of passive income online.
But first, I want to talk about what it is, what it isn’t, and introduce the program that I finally purchased, and never looked back.
Digital products that utilize digital marketing include:
- Online Courses: Platforms like Udemy and Coursera offer a wide range of courses on various subjects, using targeted ads and email marketing to attract learners.
- E-books: Authors and publishers promote e-books through social media campaigns, email newsletters, and affiliate marketing to reach potential readers.
- Plans and how to: If you want to build a shed, or turn your snowmobile into an ice fishing rig (another brother), you can find such things online and download them.
- Music: Artists use streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, along with social media, to promote their music and connect with fans.
- Webinars: Many businesses host webinars to educate their audience about their products or services, often using email marketing and social media to drive registrations.
- Subscription Boxes: Companies like Birchbox and Loot Crate use digital marketing strategies, including influencer partnerships and targeted ads, to attract subscribers.
- Mobile Apps: App developers utilize app store optimization (ASO), social media, and online ads to promote their apps and increase downloads.
- Items like software, templates, and stock photos are marketed through content marketing, SEO, and social media to reach specific niches.
Digital marketing is not:
- Get rich quick. Nope, that’s a dirty trick used to scam desperate people. It takes time, knowledge and effort to make relationships, provide value and build a reputation.
- A magic solution. It takes effort and know-how to generate sales for any company.
- Quick fix or guaranteed results. As with anything worth doing, a healthy foundation is important, and a commitment to the process is critical. Good results follow.
Brands we all know that use digital marketing include: Amazon, Netflix, Nike, Coca Cola, AirBnB. Netflix is a good example of a digital product; its ads and tactics are digital marketing.
Digital Marketing Process Example
Digital Marketing is a fantastic avenue for creating passive income, which simply means that you do the work once, and sell the product many times… on autopilot. For example, I create a program that teaches you how to build a shed in your back yard. First, the ad, webinar or email series that you see is digital marketing. The video, e-book and plans are digital products (downloadable). When you complete your purchase, I make a sale, you receive a product that helps you get what you want. That’s value. When I also sell it to your neighbor, or another customer 6 states away, that’s scalability. I didn’t create another video, e-book or plan set. I sold one product multiple times. And when I keep up the marketing effort over time, and I sell the same, valuable product many times, on autopilot, that’s passive income.
Now, let’s look at that autopilot system. In this digital marketing course, you will learn how to set up a sales funnel, which, in my example, means that when someone requests information by clicking on my offer, they receive an email and are referred into an automated series of events and end up on a sales page, where they have an opportunity to purchase and download the product.
